Dwarf gourami by Andalgalornis Dwarf gourami by Andalgalornis
One of my Dwarf gouramis. These guys are pretty neat, they have a labyrinth organ that allows them to breath oxygen directly from the air and they build neat looking bubble nests..

Yea, I was going to buy a Betta, another air breathing asian fish, but these guys had more personality even though they lacked the bright and shiney.I coulden't say if these guys are agressive. They are the only two fish in the tank and the plants are not too intimidated by them. This WAS taken with a digital camera. It used to take wonderful pictures but for some insane reason it stopped working and I have yet to figure out why.

Have to favorite it on this account. (Sorry, it's my photography account and I'm a stickler about keeping the photography faves to the... well, ya know.;))

Ha, it's so so cute! I remember when I was 7-8 my parents kept a lot of tropical freshies and we had a large silver gourami. Damn, that thing was very aggressive.
Very nice picture, it looks like a professional photo out of a "How to Keep Tropical Freshwater Fish" book. Is this a digital cam?
By the way, I had no idea they had a labyrinth organ, that's fascinating. They may not be bright colors but it just goes to show fishkeeping isn't about the immediate asthetics. ;)
